What is the future of
organised religion in the next generation?
- The seminar was
held at the Perth Jewish Centre on the afternoon of 30 April.
The event was well attended by approximately 50 people with
excellent presentations being made by both Revd Dr John Evans,
General
Secretary, Uniting Church in WA and Rabbi Fred Morgan,
Senior Rabbi, Temple
Beth Israel, Melbourne, Victoria which generated much
discussion. The seminar was chaired by Revd Anne Amos, CCJWA.

Reflections on
Contemporary Israel and its Three Monotheistic Religions
The presentation made
by Dr Rowan Strong Strong, Senior Lecturer, Murdoch University and
Chairperson, Council of Christians and Jews WA Inc.
took place on the evening of 14 June and was well attended by
approximately 70 people. We thank Rabbi Davidowitz and his
congregation for their generous hospitality in allowing us to hold
the event in the Lecture Theatre of the Northern Suburbs Hebrew
Congregation.

Kristallnacht Service
The Kristallnacht
Memorial Service was held at Temple David, Mt Lawley on the
afternoon of Sunday, 12 November. The address was given by the
Hon. David K. Malcolm QC AC, Professor of Law at Notre Dame
University and Lt-Governor of Western Australia with readings by
Council members of CCJWA. The beautiful and reflective
musical interludes were sung by Ken and Judith Arkwright,
accompanied by organist, Elizabeth Pascoe.
